COFFEE STORY

The Naimeg Family has been growing coffee since the 1960s. They sold their farm in Parana in 1985 and were one of the first families to settle in the Cerrado Mineiro in the midst of Brazil's agricultural revolution. They now own 4 farms in the Cerrado with a total production of around 7000 bags of coffee per year. The patriarch, Gerson, ran the operation until he passed away in 2014, and the company and farm are now run by his 6 sons & daughter. We have visited their farms twice, in the summer of 2019 & the summer of 2023. They are gracious and exaggerated hosts, we have been greeted by seemingly the entire family both times, treated to full day tours, then typically lunch AND dinner, which typically lasts well into the night. This is an incredibly sweet, clean and creamy coffee with a long aftertaste. It is not nearly as fruity as most naturals we carry, but it has a great texture and a hint of dried fruit in the finish.
