Tweed purchases coffees from coffees growers all over the world at premium prices. We use standards produced by the Specialty Coffee Association and Coffee Quality Institute to ensure that the coffees we are buying possess qualities that are both our preference, as well as objective quality. We buy all of our coffees through importing or exporting partners that we have worked with for years and that share our values around quality, transparency, and equity in supply chains. When possible, we buy the same coffees from the same producers year over year. At the point that we are purchasing enough volume to justify the expense, we visit these producers to deepen our relationship and connection to the people that supply our green coffee.

We rotate our coffees seasonally. If you don't see your favorite coffee on our site, it's likely that we have consumed the amount we purchased that year. We will always endeavor to bring coffees back to our offering list each year when they meet our standards. Most of our coffees are selections we have carried for at least 4 years, if not longer!


We do a number of things to promote environmental sustainability

  • We compost all of our coffee chaff byproducts from roasting through our partners at Recycle Revolution
  • We have a single stream recycling bin at our warehouse facility, which we chose specifically because it allows us to recycle all plastics including wraps and bags on site. To preserve freshness, all of our coffee ships in GrainPro liners, and we make sure that these bags are re-used where possible, recycled when not or afterward, and do not end up in landfill.
  • We prioritize working with coffee producers that are practicing organic or biodynamic farming and are stewards of their land.

  • Our Loring roaster is 33% more efficient than a conventional gas roaster, and we use 33% less natural gas than we would on other conventional roasters

We roast our coffee on a 35 kilogram Loring roaster. All of our coffees are roasted to exacting specifications, with the goal being to produce coffees that extract similarly. Ideally this means that if you purchase 2 different coffees from us and are brewing them in the same way, you should only need to make minimal changes if any to experience everything our coffees have to offer.

Flat rate shipping on orders under $40.

Orders over $40 ship free.

We roast and fulfill online orders on Mondays & Wednesdays.

The first installment of our subscriptions ship the following shipping day. Subsequent installments ship on Mondays.

Orders placed between 8am Monday- 8am Wednesday will ship on Wednesday.

Orders placed 8am Wednesday- 8am Monday will ship on Monday.

All eligible orders to the lower US 48 states are shipped via UPS Ground.

If you order coffee to a PO Box, military forwarding address, Alaska or Hawaii, we will ship your order via USPS priority. If you would like to ship via a different method, please contact us at howdy@tweedcoffee.com. We currently only ship orders to locales serviced by the US Post Office.


Our 12 ounce bags have a one way valve and a foil lining to preserve coffee over time. Each bag has a zipper top so it is easy to keep the coffee in the bag you receive. Our 4 ounce bags are not resealable because of the small size, but they are also foil lined. Our 5 pound bags have a tin tie and one way valve. We are always exploring options to innovate our packaging in the future- recyclable or compostable packaging is high on our priority list for the near future. If you are local to Austin or Dallas, our partners at Houndstooth have a coffee bag recycling program and will accept any retail coffee bags you may have on hand, as long as they do not have a paper component.

If you are unhappy with your order for any reason, please contact us at howdy@tweedcoffee.com so we can arrange a return and refund. Coffee orders must be returned within 14 days of delivery for a refund.
