COFFEE STORY.

This is our 3rd year purchasing this offering, but the first year we have had a spot open for it on our single origin list. This coffee is produced by the workers that run the washing station, La Esperanza, that our partners at Los Volcanes Coffee manage in Antigua, Guatemala. The mill was running 6 days a week during harvest, so these workers would pick their coffee on the day off, and they’d sell it to other mills to wash, for much less than Esperanza pays, because they were working with the time that they had. In 2022, Los Volcanes decided to start running a small pickup for their own workers on Sundays so they could process it at La Esperanza, and we simply love the profile they’re able to create. We love a peachy coffee and this has it in spades, with some cocoa nib, almond and custardy back drop. There’s nice floral notes, a lifting acidity, and just all around a really nice cup that fits right in with the coffees we tend to buy.
