Sierra Mazateca

This is our 6th year to carry coffees from the Sierra Mazateca mountain range in Oaxaca, Mexico. We wanted to start buying more coffee from Mazateca in 2019 and between the starting place being much harder than expected and COVID, it has been a long process. Our partners at Caravela have done incredible work implementing modern farm management techniques, planting new trees, and pushing toward quality production has truly started to show progress. They opened a new dry mill in Oaxaca in 2024, and this is the first harvest that has been processed entirely under their guidance. We think it shows in the cup, maintaining the chocolate and ripe fruit aspects from past years, but in a cleaner, more consistent way.
